The
Clarence "Big House" Gaines
Scholarship Fund

The fund
was established in 2004 by the Reynolda Rotary Club. Big House
Gaines was a founding member of the Reynolda Rotary Club, which
adopted Lafayette A. Cook Elementary School in Winston Salem.
The Rotary
Club helps Cook in three specific areas: Literacy, Mentoring, and
Financial Support. The Cook School has an all minority student
population,
and 98%
come from economically disadvantage families.
Reynolda
Rotarians serve as volunteer reading and math tutors, "lunch
buddies" and as homework assistants and mentors. As an extension of
its commitment to Cook Elementary School, Reynolda Rotary Club
established the Clarence Big House Gaines Scholarship Fund.
The fund
is designated specifically for any student who has attended Cook
Elementary School and has been accepted to Winston-Salem State
University.
We hope to
see you at the tournament and thank
you for
your kind generosity.
